The Herbert R. King Funeral Home, Inc. was built in 1959 by Herb and Marion King in Hampton Township, PA. The facility was designed, in the traditional sense, as both a Funeral Home to serve the community, and a residence to serve the King family. While the King children, Marcia King Dunphy, Dawn King Roerink, and Scott King have grown up in this home, so too has the community, and the business, in the form of a closely held corporation, and is still dedicated to serving the working families of Pittsburgh's North Hills.
As the business has grown the professional staff has been expanded to respond to the community's needs. In 1993 Tom Hann, a licensed Funeral Director and Supervisor, was added to the staff. In addition to his other duties Tom assists families with many of the complex insurance issues that they may confront. Tom and his family reside in Hampton Township. The most recent addition to our professional staff, joining in 2000, is Jim Trivoli, a licensed Funeral Director. Jim performs many of the behind the scenes functions that require a licensed individual. Jim and his family reside in Clinton Township.
As a support service to our families without the benefit of clergy, the Rev. David M. Clawson has joined our staff. Rev. Clawson is generally available to officiate funeral services for families who do not have a local church affiliation and can serve a multitude of denominations. He is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, and the Reformed Presbyterian Seminary and is ordained in the National Association of Congregational Churches. He is a 12 year US Air Force veteran. Rev. Clawson has extensive care skills and experience assisting the dying and those in grief. Rev. Clawson and his family reside in Hampton Township.
Our support staff personnel include Bob Novak, who is responsible for the facilities appearance and maintenance. He has been associated with the Funeral Home, for over 20 years. Bob and his family reside in Richland Township. Chuck Koval serves as a greeter, driver and utility person. Chuck and his family reside in Richland Township.
