Obituary for Mary Alice (Sutter) Brueckner

Mary Alice (Sutter) Brueckner, age 87, of Shaler Township, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24, 2020.

She was married to her beloved husband, Ervin C. Brueckner, on October 8, 1964. They were married for 50 years until his passing on December 11, 2014.

She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her son Richard, daughter-in-law Marcy, and her loving granddaughters, of whom she was extremely proud, Alex, Kelsey, & Samantha.

She is also survived by three sisters, Lucille (the late Edward) Gorgas, Margaret (the late Edward) (the late Eugene Fitzgerald) Bowen and Regina (the late Fiore "Bo") DeMario.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William T., Sr. and Anna Leahy Sutter and siblings, William (Mary Theresa) Sutter, Jr., Paul (surviving Bernadette Zang) Sutter, Sr., Joan Sutter and Frances “Spike”( Mary Louise) Sutter.

Mary Alice was a life-long resident of the Etna/Shaler area. She was a graduate of All Saints School in Etna and Etna High School. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Glenshaw.

Over the years, she worked as a bookkeeper for Spohn Motors in Etna and Foss Ford in Shaler Township. She was a bookkeeper/title clerk for Krebs and King Chrysler Plymouth in Glenshaw and a notary for North Park Volkswagen. She then was the manager of the Glenshaw Glass Credit Union. She will be remembered for her work ethic and determined attitude.

During this unknown time with the COVID-19 pandemic, attending a visitation and funeral is not in the best health interest of anyone. We will have a private interment & Mass at a later date. Please be with us in thoughts & prayers.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary of the Assumption Food Pantry.

Arrangements have been entrusted to King Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc.
